PLAYERS: Jose Fernandez
TEAMS: Miami Marlins

Your browser does not support iframes.Jose Fernandez was a winner in more ways than one Friday. The Miami Marlins rookie improved his record to 4-3 on the season after lifting his team past the Cardinals. He allowed just two earned runs and struckout 10 batters in seven solid innings. But his greatest achievement of the day may have come when he rescued a live bird from the field of play before the game. As you can see, Fernandez literally picked up the bird with his bare hands and lifted him back into the bullpen.Fernandez's intentions were unquestionably good, however, I'm not sure if placing the bird in a more constricted area is escorting the animal to safety or not. I suppose the jury is still out on that one.
