Your browser does not support iframes. It's the fifth inning of the Tigers-Orioles game, Tigers left fielder Quintin Berry makes this great catch to rob Wilson Betemit of a homer. This really wasn't a game saver, as the Tigers led 7-1 at the time, but it got starter Doug Fister out of the inning unscathed. Pretty good stuff from Berry, who has come out of nowhere to be a fantastic contributor for the Tigers, who have struggled with Delmon Young and Brennan Boesch in the outfield this year. [follow]

Parody song written about Verlander-Upton

Over the last week, there has been a bunch of hullabaloo over the relationship between Tigers ace Justin Verlander and Sports Illustrated swimsuit goddess Kate Upton. The website Busted Coverage scrounged up some evidence of Upton “hanging all over” Verlander in Shelby Township this past weekend after the two attended an Aerosmith concert. Friday night, Upton attended the...

Then and now: How the Tigers are hanging in 2012

Detroit -- There were great expectations for the Detroit Tigers coming into the 2012 season after they signed Prince Fielder, one of the top free agents on the market. Virtually every baseball expert picked the Tigers to repeat as Central Division champions. But, as the old saying goes, the games are not played on paper. It became clear from the second game of the season that...

Tigers place Smyly on DL, recall Marte

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Detroit Tigers have placed rookie left-hander Drew Smyly on the 15-day disabled list with a strained muscle in his right side. The move, made Saturday, is retroactive to July 7. In his last appearance, Smyly struck out a career-high 10 batters in a 4-2 win over Kansas City. Smyly said he experienced pain in his side during that start and thought it would go...

Game 2012.88: Tigers at Orioles

45-42, 3rd place, 3.5 games back. They just keep winning and winning. The guys are playing some of their best baseball of the year right now, and have a lot of people thinking that the post season is a real possibility. Unfortunately, those words could have been written about the Indians, White Sox, or Tigers. During this 6 game winning streak, the White Sox have only lost once...

Fister and the Tigers roll into the second half with a win

The Tigers started the second half of the season much like they finished the first half, getting some good offense and good pitching as they defeated the Baltimore Orioles 7-2 from Camden Yards. Doug Fister who looks to be returning to form went seven strong innings allowing one run (earned) on 3 hits while walking zero and striking out eight. He earned his third win of the season...

Detroit Tigers’ Bullpen Collapses in Heartbreaking Extra Inning Loss to Baltimore Orioles

Will Tigers be champs or road kill?

True story. Im driving on a fairly major thoroughfare in Detroit last week and the cars in front of me slow down. As we proceed, I see a very large, almost frighteningly so, box turtle having just started to make his (or her I mean, who really knows box turtle genders, other than other box turtles?) way across this street. The thought was immediate: Man, thats confidence -- or...

Detroit Tigers’ Second-Half Predictions

The Detroit Tigers technically hit the midpoint of their season on July 3, when they dropped an 8-6 slugfest to the Minnesota Twins to fall to 39-42. Since then, the Tigers have reeled off five straight — enough to head … Continue reading →

Win $500 With FanDuel Fantasy Baseball And Make Me Feel Like Justin Verlander

Wait 'til you see his ping pong ball trick! We’re playing FanDuel fantasy baseball again this week, and one way or another I’ll end up feeling like Justin Verlander. If I win, I’m the Justin Verlander who gets to shack up with Kate Upton. If I lose horribly, I’m the Justin Verlander who ruined the All-Star Game. We’re capping the league at 275 spots this week, so...

Justin Verlander and Kate Upton

Starring in Upton Girl. Is there any coincidence that right after news broke that Justin Verlander was dating MLB 2012 and Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton, that Verlander goes out and gets trashed, giving up 5 runs in one inning in the all-star game?
