If you missed Tuesday’s game between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays, you missed a noteworthy brawl. For a video of the brawl, check the end of this entry. The two main characters in the brawl were New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada and Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jesse Carlson. In the eighth inning, Carlson through a pitch behind Posada after two Blue Jays were hit by pitches. The fireworks really went off in the eighth when Posada scored and bumped Carlson after crossing the plate. That bump cleared both benches and created a relatively physical brawl.   • Both Posada and Carlson have to accept their share of the blame for this. But everyone is saying Posada alone caused the brawl. I don't agree for one important reason. If the hit that scored Posada was down the right field line, then why in the hell was Carlson standing on the 1st base side of homeplate exactly where Posada would have to pass him after scoring? If you are backing up home on a throw from rightfield, you would have to be on the 3rd base side of home in foul territory where he and Posada would never have even come close to one another. So Carlson was definitely trying to get something started. He was also tossing 'F' bombs at Jorge. I would have clocked his sorry ass as well. And from the looks of that knot you could use to play horseshoes with on Carlsons head, he definitely got the worst end of it. Good for you Jorge and to hell with Carlsons sorry ass.
