Obviously one video of one fantastic off-balance throw by Ryan Zimmerman after a backhanded grab in Tuesday's spring training game against the Marlins probably isn't enough to restore confidence in Zim's ability to throw a baseball across the diamond. But it helps. Video above. Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post had more on the lingering questions about Zim's ability to throw. Here's Zim: "I feel like I’m right where I need to be. The whole goal was to be ready by April 1. Today was finally a game where I got some groundballs. I’ve been playing for a week or so and haven’t really got much. It was nice to some chances today. It gets better each day." (Ryan Zimmerman, via Nationals Journal, 3/26/2013) Befriend Nats Enquirer on Facebook. Follow on Twitter.

Denard Span forgets jersey, wears No. 91

Washington Nationals center fielder Denard Span forgot to bring his jersey on the team's road trip to Kissimmee, Florida to take on the Houston Astros in a spring training exhibition game. As a result, Span had to wear a number 91 jersey for the game instead of his usual number 2, probably because that's all that the Nationals equipment managers had left to give him. Your...

Knobler: Bryce Harper is Hard to Hate

A lot of people hate on me for liking Bryce Harper so much. I was a little undecided on the guy until I read a book about his only amateur season. And then I wanted to immediately learn more about the guy. Then I saw him play. From his first big league at-bat, I saw that he wasn’t a fraud. I always believed in his ability, and then I decided that when you watch him play; this is...

Chris Young has a minor league contract that he can opt out of.  He signed with the Washington Nationals in hope of making the Major League roster.  That's not going to happen right now, so Young will opt out of the deal.
