Obviously one video of one fantastic off-balance throw by Ryan Zimmerman after a backhanded grab in Tuesday's spring training game against the Marlins probably isn't enough to restore confidence in Zim's ability to throw a baseball across the diamond. But it helps. Video above.
Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post had more on the lingering questions about Zim's ability to throw. Here's Zim:
"I feel like I’m right where I need to be. The whole
goal was to be ready by April 1. Today was finally a game where I got
some groundballs. I’ve been playing for a week or so and haven’t really
got much. It was nice to some chances today. It gets better each day." (Ryan Zimmerman, via Nationals Journal, 3/26/2013)

Washington Nationals center fielder Denard Span forgot to bring his jersey on the team's road trip to Kissimmee, Florida to take on the Houston Astros in a spring training exhibition game. As a result, Span had to wear a number 91 jersey for the game instead of his usual number 2, probably because that's all that the Nationals equipment managers had left to give him. Your...
He's 41-years-old and has been retired for nearly a year. But Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez won't admit that he can't still play the game.
"It's still there," Rodriguez said Monday before a PwC-SMU luncheon at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. "To be honest with you, it's still there."
Rodriguez said he trains as if he is still playing and it...
Ryan Zimmerman hit three home runs and Wilson Ramos hit two more as a split squad of Washington Nationals beat the Atlanta Braves 11-2 Wednesday.
Tyler Moore also homered for the Nationals, giving them six for the afternoon. Zimmerman and Ramos each had four RBIs.
Zimmerman opened the fourth inning with a home run off Daniel Rodriguez, then started the fifth with a drive against...
Truth be told, Nats Enquirer staff doesn't believe in jinxes, but the Mr. October thing makes us all a little nervous.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is expected to
sit out the team’s next two exhibition games to allow his swollen left thumb to
heal, according to Mark Zuckerman of CSN Washington. Harper hopes to return to
action Friday in preparation of playing on Opening Day.
The thumb has been hampering Harper since Friday. He
suffered the injury when he was jammed...
Just in time for Opening Day, MLB launched its new "I Play" marketing campaign today, featuring spots with Bryce Harper, Robinson Cano, Carlos Gonzalez, Adam Jones, Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey, David Price, Mike Trout, Justin Verlander and David Wright.
Up above is the video for Harper's spot, in which a Harper voice-over talks about playing for "the W on...
A lot of people hate on me for liking Bryce Harper so much. I was a little undecided on the guy until I read a book about his only amateur season. And then I wanted to immediately learn more about the guy. Then I saw him play. From his first big league at-bat, I saw that he wasn’t a fraud. I always believed in his ability, and then I decided that when you watch him play; this is...
Chris Young has a minor league contract that he can opt out of. He signed with the Washington Nationals in hope of making the Major League roster. That's not going to happen right now, so Young will opt out of the deal.
According to Mark Zuckerman, the only way to avoid the opt out is for the Nationals to add Young to their roster.
Chris Young has filed paperwork...
Bryce Harper does not browse hot girls or sports on the internet, but rather houses and clothes on Pinterest. Who'da thunk it?
Dave Nichols of District Sports Page organized the 2013 Washington Nationals rountable this year, where a few Nats bloggers (including me) were asked to make predictions about the coming season. It's a seven-part series, and I'll be crossposting the links here as well as my answers to each of the questions.
In case you missed it, you can check out parts one, two, and...
Chris Young has opted out of his contract with the Washington Nationals and there is the possibility that Young could return to the Mets. Let’s take a look at the situation.
Washington Nationals Perspective:

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) -- Giancarlo Stanton homered twice, including a drive high off the hitters' background screen in center field, to help the Miami Marlins defeat the Washington Nationals 8-5 Tuesday.
Bryce Harper singled in each of his first two times up to extend his streak of consecutive at-nats with hits to nine, He walked in the fifth, then left the game.
Harper is hitting...
Chris Young has made just 28 major league starts over the last three seasons, but it appears there’s no shortage of interest in the 6-foot-10 right-hander.
Young, who was an All-Star as a member of the Padres in 2007, had been pitching for the Nationals this spring, but the club granted him his release on Tuesday. Young reportedly “loved” playing with the Nationals, but he...
