Chris Volstad was not seen at the Miami Marlins' new uniform unveiling on Friday, and it turns out he's kind of bummed he missed it.
Not only would he have liked to have been part of the ceremony, but Volstad thinks his absence means he might not be a Marlin for much longer.
Either that, or his invitation got lost in the mail.
"I can't say I haven't had those thoughts," he told the Palm Beach Post Tuesday. Volstad has not quite met the expectations the Marlins had for him when they selected him in the first round of the 2005 draft.
Instead of modeling a new uniform on Friday night, Volstad was in Tallahassee for the UM-FSU football game the next day. He told the Post he would have preferred the modeling gig at the new stadium over a Canes-Noles grudge match at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Not that he's angry. "I don't really know that I could get mad at them," he said. "I mean, it would have been cool to be a part of it but I don't know really what their plans are."
