While the Boston Red Sox certainly didn’t pursue Wade Boggs after he put up the worst season of his 11-year career with the team, he did choose to sign with arch-rival New York after the 1992 season, making him the enemy. It’s a business, but there was never a reconciliation between Boggs and his former team, even though the Hall of Famer entered Cooperstown wearing a Red Sox hat. The former third baseman doesn’t feel overly appreciated for his contributions to the Sox, where he won 5-batting crowns and appeared in 8 All-Star Games, and helped lead them to a 1986 World Series appearance. Via the Boston Globe: Wade Boggs already owns a piece of the Field of Dreams.
