Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:
Omar Minaya said Billy Wagner has been tossing a baseball at 60 feet, including today at Shea, but has yet to get on a mound. The GM labeled Wagner "week to week."
Minaya added that he didn't expect to pull off a waiver trade before Aug. 31, but wouldn't rule it out. The problem: Any NL West team in search of a reliever can trump the Mets because of an inferior record. "I don't anticipate a quality guy getting to us," Minaya said.
