Deep x 4 in 5th:
David Ortiz (1), Mike Lowell (7), Jason Bay (12), Capt. J-Tek 1 in 3rd, 1 in 5th (7) launched home-runs tonight giving Brad Penny a nice, big 8-0 cushion against the Toronto (first place) Blue Jays. Big Papi at long last went deep for the first time this 09 season however is still an anemic 1-4 with 2 strike outs tonight and continues to struggle mightily. Kevin Youkilis has 3 hits in 4 at bats and Bay another solid night with a home-run and a single in 3 ABs. Brad Penny has been cruising as he ventures for his 4 th. win against 1 loss and would really like to polish up his ERA which remains rather elevated at 6.69.
Now that it is official we can rejoice as the Red Sox topped the jays for the second time in as many attempts 8-3. Brad Penny notched his 4th win, Big Papi went 2 for 5 with a double and a Home-run and so on... The most eye catching statistic is the Blue jays hit and Strike out total; 14 and 2 respectively. Penny shaved .62 of a run from his bloated earned run average but could use a few more stellar starts to become respectable.
Congratulations Team, Your playin some bad ball of late! Sleep tight and we'll do it again on the morrow.
