Wang Throw Seven Shutout Innings in Scranton

Chien-Ming Wang pitched for the triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees this afternoon and pitched very well. In seven shutout innings he allowed just four hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out one. He needed just 75 pitches (49 strikes) for the complete game shutout (they only play seven innings during doubleheaders in AAA). He retired 12 hitters via the ground out and 8 in the air.The Columbus lineup included major leaguers, Travis Hafner, Andy Marte, and Tony Graffanino. Hafner and Graffanino both picked up hits.According to Chad Jennings, Wang's fastball was 90-92 mph, but could have been higher because the radar gun in Scranton. That's not where the Yankees want to see his fastball, but the results were very good. Peter Abraham is now saying that a scout at the game said he was throwing 93.Brian Bruney will start the second game of today's doubleheader and pitch one inning.
