Since my Facebook page is blowing up this morning about C.C. Sabathia‘s strike zone last night, I figured I’d investigate. Yankees fans, and the Yankees manager, are all over last night’s home plate umpire, Gerry Davis, claiming that Sabathia got squeezed. If only there was a way to find out…. Whalla! Here is Sabathia’s location chart for the game, from the umpire’s perspective. There were a total of five pitches that hit the strike zone, that were unfortunately (for Yankees fans), incorrectly called as balls.

Next, here is Justin Verlander‘s location chart for the game. Count up all those little green boxes inside the strike zone and what do you know, Verlander was also hurt by the umpire on exactly five pitches.
So, was C.C. squeezed? Obviously not.
