One detail I neglected to mention in my Dodgers v. Cardinals Game 2 wrap-up was a post game comment by Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright. The Cy Young contender’s 8-inning, 3-hit gem left  the Cards with a 2-1 lead heading into the 9th. A legendary Matt Holliday nutshot and questionable Ryan Franklin pitching squandered Wainwright’s stellar outing and caused the Cardinals’ Game 2 defeat. Unless you ask Wainwright. His reason for his team’s collapse? Towels. White and blue towels.
