ARLINGTON, Texas Jered Weaver was not auditioning for "American Idol," but as he walked off the mound in the fourth inning Sunday night, he sang along to his own exit music.
While the song "Hit the Road, Jack" played over the stadium public address system, Weaver could be seen mouthing the words to the Ray Charles hit.
"I was singing the song, 'Hit the Road, Jack,' because that's exactly what I needed to do hit the road," Weaver said. "I wasn't pitching to my capabilities. It was obviously time for me to hit the road at that point."
And time for the Angels, too. They couldn't pack their bags fast enough.
One night after a rousing victory over the Rangers, the Angels belly-flopped. One night after Mark Trumbo suggested the need to play with an attitude, they were blown out.
Now they return home with a 3-3 record on their six-game trip, with 20 losses, with an eight-game deficit in the American League West and with ano...

Los Angeles Angels rookie outfielder Mike Trout is the American League version of Bryce Harper, so how the heck did he fall to the 25th pick of the 2009 draft?
"You got me," says Trout's father, Jeff.
Call it anti-East Coast bias. Anti-New Jersey bias. Maybe even anti-Billy Rowell bias.
There is more to the story, much more, but what the heck. Let's start by...

Only there is, and it’s under the most unfortunate circumstances.
That’s because according to a Texas TV station, Hunter took the leave...

It was nice to see the old Angel baseball philosophy rear it's head today. Sure, you had a two run blast by Mark Trumbo to get things started, but it was the old formula of timely hitting and good pitching that brought home the victory. So many things to like about this win and yet all people will talk about is Josh Freakin' Hamilton...Angels 4 Rangers 2Game Notes -- CJ...

It's been a rough week for Cacique's teams; Josh Hamilton has been the anti-Pujols this year. And Octomom's getting nekkid for money.

(AP) -- Josh Hamilton is hitting the ball hard and the opponent hasn't made much of a difference.
That may be why it's somewhat surprising that he hasn't enjoyed consistent success against the Kansas City Royals.
Hamilton looks to continue his torrid pace at the plate as the AL-leading Texas Rangers open a two-game set against the visiting Royals on Monday night.
