Found May 14, 2012 on Nationals Enquirer:
Hasn't been the best of times since Bryce Harper cut off his skullet, eh? Friday night: 0-5, smacks himself in the eye with his bat. Saturday: 0-4, finishes his day by striking out on three pitches against Aroldis Chapman. Then on Sunday, Harper lost a Jay Bruce fly ball in the twlight/mist/clouds/sky in the 8th inning (video here). Ball lands ~15 feet behind him on the warning track. 6-3 game became 6-5, setting the stage for Henry Rodriguez in the ninth. Here's Harper discussing the strange play after the game, via MASN: "Tough sky. When it got above the seats you can't really see. I saw Votto's ball pretty well because it was below the seats. But when you've got hazy sky like that it's pretty tough to read a ball off the bat. I had no clue. I had no idea. It happened. It sucks that it happened, but I had no clue where it was, and there was nothing I could do about it." (Bryce Harper, via MASNSports.com, 5/13/2012) The good news is, Ha...

Harper has welt, stitches after hitting himself with bat

Washington Nationals' budding star Bryce Harper insists on playing after accidentally hitting himself on the side of his head with a bat during Friday night's game at the Cincinnati Reds. The injury included a golf ball-sized welt and 10 stitches above his left eye after he swung his bat in anger in a tunnel leading to the team's clubhouse following his fourth at-bat...

Bryce Harper Cuts His Hair And Bloodies His Eye (PHOTOS)

I’m not sure what you call Bryce Harper’s famed haircut — the skullet, the muskrat, the brohawk — but he took a razor to the back, leaving him rattail-less for the first time as a big leaguer: Approve. Elsewhere in Harper mythology, the wunderkind had a rough night at the dish, going 0-for-5 in his worst game since joining the Nats two weeks ago. It was so bad that after...

Bryce Harper Speeds Around Bases in 17 Seconds After Hitting First Career Home Run (Video)

Bryce Harper has shown off his speed at every level in his baseball life. On Monday night, Harper displayed that speed once again but this time during a home run trot. The 19-year-old rookie has torn into major league pitching since being called up on April 27, and on Monday he even hit his first career home run. Harper was so excited by the experience that he flew around the bases...

Tater Trot Tracker: Bryce Harper's First Career Home Run by Larry Granillo

Ever since Bryce Harper's Sports Illustrated cover story at the age of 15, there's been a lot of talk about the phenom—and two topics especially: how good is this kid really going to be? and how cocky can he be? From obnoxious tweets to scary eye-black to a few blown kisses during a minor league tater trot, the second question seemed like it might be the more controversial...

Photo of the night: Bryce Harper

Harper literally added injury to insult on Friday The 19-year old had a night to forget in his first appearance in the Queen City on Friday. His 0-5 showing with three strikeouts led him to lash out in frustration and consequently harm himself. After his fourth at-bat he went down in the tunnel and attempted to take out his anger on an unsuspecting wall with his bat....

Bryce Harper May Have Aggravated Teammate Mark DeRosa's Oblique Injury With Forceful High-Five

Bryce Harper has made headlines for all kinds of baseball feats since breaking into the major leagues earlier this month. Recently, it hasn't been good news, as Harper sent a bat caroming off his face. He had swung the bat at a wall in frustration after striking out in a game and ended up needing 10 stitches above his left eye. It appears that the injuries Harper has been doling...

Two down, 598 to go

Harper v. Bass. Bass is swallowed whole. The smoke-grey bat was back this afternoon, and Bryce Harper took a piece from Anthony Bass that he can never have back. On a day where Bass was particularly stingy, Harper still found a way to tally another impressive bomb. And not that I’ll be able to make this a habit, but I’ve caught them both live. Here’s Bryce Harper career home...

Harper hits first major league HR

Bryce Harper is as sentimental about his first big league homer as he is about the rest of the many milestones in his baseball career. The ball's headed for a cardboard box. The 19-year-old rookie became the youngest major leaguer to homer since 1998 with a solo shot in the third inning of the Washington Nationals' 8-5 victory over the San Diego Padres on Monday night....

When Bryce Harper whiffed on a 100 MPH Aroldis Chapman fastball

Well, it's a good thing Bryce Harper got his frustrations out on Friday night. Harper suffered through another tough night at the plate on Saturday (0-4, 1K, 5 LOB), capped off by a three pitch strikeout to Aroldis Chapman (99 MPH foul, 87 MPH foul, 100 MPH whiff). The Nickname Crisis In Our Nation's Capital

I blogged about this when Stephen Strasburg made his debut, but with 19-year-old Bryce Harper now seemingly in a Nationals uniform to stay the situation has become intolerable. Washington has two of the most exciting, talented, compulsively watchable young players in their lineup that the grand old game has had grace its fields in a long time... ...and neither one of them has...
