In 2008 Jewish MLB lovers were introduce to Josh Whitesell. The Diamondbacks first baseman wasn't the biggest or fastest, but many of us hoped he would have some staying power. Unfortunately he didn't. Well that is not entirely true, it just wasn't on American soil.
His raw home run hitting power lead the DBacks organization to keep him around in the minors. After a great spring training in 2009 Whitesell was sent back down to minors. He later signed a contract with the Wahsington Nationals, which began his bizarre turn of events. Whitesell was traded to...Tokoyo and sign a contract with the Tokoyo Yaklut Swallows.
He played great and the Swallows tripled his salary. He finished the season batting .309 with a .399 on base percentage and a .591 slugging percentage. After all his success, Whitesell became in demand, but again not in America. This past month, The Chiba Lotte Marines announced that they signed former big league first baseman. We are yet to s...

2011 Arizona Diamondbacks Player Evaluations: Ryan Roberts
When he made the Diamondbacks roster coming out of spring training, there wasn’t a ton expected from Ryan Roberts. Mostly a career minor leaguer, Roberts was expected to be used in a pinch hitting role and part-time utility man off the bench.
Little did Kirk Gibson and D’Backs fans would soon find out that by the end of the season, Roberts was the team’s everyday...
2-time All-Star Melvin Mora retires, was nearly 40
Two-time All-Star Melvin Mora is retiring from baseball, five weeks shy of his 40th birthday.
Mora played 13 seasons in the big leagues, 10 of them with the Baltimore Orioles. He began last year with the Arizona Diamondbacks, was released on July 1 while hitting .228 with no home runs and did not play again in the majors.

Five MLB names you need to know for 2012
This list is comprised of five names that baseball fans across the nation may not be very acquainted with just yet, but will by the end of the 2012 season. I tried to stay away from any former top prospects or players with more that just a few games played at the major league level.
Trevor Bauer, SP, ARI – BauerOutage, as he’s known on Twitter, is not only a tremendous...

Our next installment in our Best of the Blog 2011 series takes us all the way back to February and our 30 Teams in 30 Days series. This particular post shows us just how futile the exercise of trying to predict the future is. We picked the Dbacks to finish last in the NL West (they won it). There are some other entertainingly wrong predictions analysis in there too. This may...
Buster Olney Continues High Praise of Arizona Diamondbacks
Buster Olney has made it no secret how much he like the Diamondbacks roster heading into the 2012 season. Just a couple of days after giving high praise to Arizona’s rotation and bullpen, the ESPN baseball writer ranks the D’Backs having the best overall outfield in the game.
Here is full description of what Olney said in the ESPN insider article.
Justin Upton hovered...
D-backs' In-House Options for Fifth Starter
While it can be foolish to rely on a single rookie to anchor the back end of your rotation, the Arizona Diamondbacks have several rookie options for their fifth starter slot, making it likely that at least one of them will have success in that role.

Surprise of 2011, D-backs not standing pat
This time last year, it was hard to find too many people excited about the Arizona Diamondbacks' chances for success in 2011. When all was said and done, Arizona won the NL West by eight games over the world champion Giants before dropping a heartbreaking five-game series to the Brewers in the NL Division Series.
