It's a little premature to discuss this, but on a slow news day as the team wraps up spring training it should be an interesting week for Nick Evans. After hitting .270 with 12 RBIs, 3 HRs, 2 triples and 5 doubles ( slg. pct. .514) Evans was rewarded by making the team. However, that position is only temporary as the Mets will need the roster spot on April 11 th for the fifth starter. So Evans has one week to impress the team into making a tough decision but Jerry Manuel hasn't ruled it out...."If he pops [three homers the first week], he ain't going nowhere," Manuel said.
