Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking. After Tim Lincecum no-hit the Padres Saturday, we fans needed a win. And, boy, did we ever get one! The Padres treated Barry Zito like he was one of the uninvited house guests that we all consider San Francisco Giants fans to be. Zito lasted just 2+ innings in the Padres 10-1 win. The Padres record is now 42-54. They’re 8 1/2 games back of the division leading Arizona Diamondbacks. Now, the Padres have 4 days off for the All-Star break. Except Everth Cabrera, that is. The 2013 All-Star Game is Tuesday, starting at 5pm PDT, from Citi Field in New York. The Padres next game is Friday, July 19 in St Louis against the Cardinals. Jason Marquis faces Jake Westbrook at 5:15pm PDT. A Toast To Lincecum

First of all…Tim Lincecum, I want to say Congratulations…and Thank You.  I know that the relationship between you and the fans hasn’t been so clean the last couple of seasons, but we are still rooting for you, and we appreciate that you are still working on your art and craft, and doing it so that Giants fans can appreciate it, rather than some who don’t, and wait until...

Hunter Pence diving catch preserves no-hitter

Tim Lincecum and his soul patch threw his first career no-hitter Saturday night against the Padres, but Lincecum is going to owe Hunter Pence dinner or naming rights to his first born or something after Pence made a remarkable diving grab to end the eighth and keep the no-no in tact. Lincecum also got some nifty help from Pablo Sandoval an inning earlier. It’s the Giants’ 14th...

Giants' Tim Lincecum tosses no-hitter against the Padres

Tim Lincecum has had a rough go of things over the last two years.  His struggles have prompted questions about his ability to pitch going forward and about his health.  However, this isn't an injury article today.  Lincecum tossed his first career no-hitter against the San Diego Padres last night.  And that's pretty cool.  So take a look. Tim Lincecum Gets His Groove Back; Pitches First Career No-Hitter

What a long strange trip it has been for San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum. At one time he appeared like he was set to be the next G.O.A.T. Than he seemed to lose his mojo and became a mere mortal like the rest of the us. But not Saturday night. It may have taken him 148 pitches, but the man tossed his first career no-hitter. Oh--and he had 13 strikeouts to boot...

Tim Lincecum's No-Hitter Gives Giant Management A Rare Opportunity

When the San Francisco Giants won two games in a row last week against the struggling San Diego Padres, a glimmer of hope seemed to appear amid the nightmare of the 2013 season. Then San Francisco Giants starter Tim Lincecum threw the 15th no hitter in Giants' franchise history Saturday against the Padres and fans flooded the local sports talk radio airwaves with the news...

Zito, Bullpen Undone by Padres, Drop Finale 10-1

Three straight wins including a no-hitter isn’t too shabby for the defending World Champions, however a four game sweep of the Padres was not to be. Sunday afternoon was less than favorable for starter Barry Zito as he allowed four runs in two plus innings as well as three home runs. The Padres got some measure of revenge for Lincecum’s no hitter on Saturday, tattooing Giants...

The Shameful Melancholy of Tim Lincecum's No-Hitter

Despite Brian Kenny's protestations, a no-hitter is still an event to get excited about, like Christmas morning even after you know Santa Claus isn't coming. The combination of talent meeting luck, as an entire team is stymied by the pitcher and nine men who, for one day, are positioned in just the right way so no hard liners, bloop singles, or slow rollers can find safe...

Tigers could be interested in San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum

The Tigers’ bullpen has been serviceable as of late with Joaquin Benoit taking over the closers role while Drew Smyly has been murdering left handed hitters while taking on the 7th and 8th innings. The jury is still out on Bruce Rondon and whether or not he’ll eventually come around but despite things being somewhat quiet for the Tigers in terms of the bullpen there’s still...

Padres 10, Giants 1

Carlos Quentin hit one of San Diego's four home runs and drove in three runs as the Padres routed Barry Zito and the San Francisco Giants 10-1 on Sunday, a day after being no-hit by Tim Lincecum. Nick Hundley had a homer among his three hits and Chris Denorfia and Will Venable also went deep as the Padres avoided a four-game sweep by the defending World Series champions heading...

Report: Tigers interested in acquiring Tim Lincecum

The Detroit Tigers have interest in acquiring San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Tim Lincecum as a reliever, reports FoxSports.com. Lincecum has won two Cy Young Awards and two World Series rings.  Now he has a no-hitter in which he threw a career-high 148 pitches, second most thrown in a no-hitter since Edwin Jackson threw 149 pitches in 2010.
