Found July 11, 2012 on Metstradamus:
It wasn't so much my worst nightmare last night as it was just freaking annoying that the two guys who didn't deserve to start the all-star game on merit went out and had good games and were in the running for MVP. But the good news is that the N.L. won their third straight all-star game which if nothing else will muffle, if not mute all those snob American League fans that like to point to all-star games as a measuring stick of how their league is better than Jesus. Also good news is that R.A. Dickey represented our little baseball team quite well by pitching a scoreless inning (though it should have been the first and not the sixth), and David Wright represented the Mets even better with his orange spikes. Very nice job there, kids.Got me thinking as to who, in a show of snotty and immature revenge, should we rally around to vote into the all-star game next season? I thought of Mike Nickeas, which would be totally ridiculous. I thought of Josh Thole, because wouldn't it...

Dickey pitches scoreless inning in NL’s 8-0 romp

The All-Star Game doesn’t always live up to the hype that comes with a contest between baseball’s best players, but tonight’s event was particularly one-sided, with the senior circuit jumping on top early and rolling to a 8-0 victory. American League starter Justin Verlander appeared locked in at the start when he struck out Carlos Gonzalez with a nasty breaking ball, but things...

R.A. Dickey passed over for All-Star start

Tony La Russa, who will manage the National League in the 2012 All-Star game, has elected to go with Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants over New York Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey as his starter tomorrow.  To me, this confirms that the city of San Francisco has somehow struck a deal with the devil and in the fine print was a clause that handed the franchise rights to this year’s...

Carlos Ruiz Uses Special Glove to Handle Dickey's Balls

Carlos Ruiz was selected to be the one to handle the catching duties for knuckleballer R.A. Dickey during the 2012 All-Star game.  But to do so, Dickey brought along his own catchers' mitt for Ruiz to catch (pitctured above). Knuckleballs are highly unpredicable.  So much so that Tony LaRussa did not think that Buster Posey of the Giants could handle it.  But Chooch could...

R.A. Dickey Only Pawn in MLB ASG Ratings Game

How hard on hard on Tony LaRussa everyone was. He's a genius. Just read Phil Mushnick today: Knuckling under TV’s pressure A Fellow with an extensive career as both a baseball marketing and sports... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Jered Weaver, R.A. Dickey Early Favorites to Win Cy Young Award

With Major League Baseball on its All-Star Break until regular season games resume on Friday, Bovada has posted updated MLB player awards props involving the Cy Young and MVP in each league. The Red Sox thought they had two potential Cy Young candidates in the spring in Jon Lester and Josh Beckett, but pitchers have disappointed as Boston was just 12-20 in their 32 starts during...

Dickey Doesn't Knuckle Under Pressure: Steals Show On Letterman

Mets All Star Knuckleballer appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman last night, and suffice to say, he was a complete success. Some interesting points RA Dickey brought up was that a lot of the knuckle ball is about reputation. There isn't much respect until you can show that you can throw the knuckler for a strike. Dickey also said he throws the knuckle ball approximately...

Darvish variety to Dickey mastery for same results

(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) By STEPHEN HAWKINS AP Sports Writer Yu Darvish came to America this year with an array of different pitches. The Japanese ace has already won 10 games for the Texas Rangers with his repertoire of fastballs and breaking pitches. R.A. Dickey mastered the knuckleball and this season became an All-Star for the first time at age 37. These days, there...

R.A. Dickey Explained the Difference Between 'Squirting' & 'Popping' a Knuckleball

NY Mets ace RA Dickey appeared on David Letterman last night, giving the host a knuckleball lesson. It pops, doesn't squirt, btw. Why not click the Google +1 & the retweet buttons? **Follow us... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Carlos Ruiz to Catch Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey in All-Star Game; Matt Cain to Start for N.L.

Who is the better catcher, Buster Posey or Carlos Ruiz?  While the voters may have said Posey, National League manager Tony La Russa thinks that Ruiz is best suited to handle the most difficult catching challege of the day: New York Mets pitcher and knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. Today, Tony La Russa said he will have Chooch warm up with Dickey and they can then enter the game together...

It’s time for Sandy Alderson to address Mets’ needs

Everyone in Metsland seems upset that David Wright was the victim of voter fraud in San Francisco and that R.A. Dickey was the victim of Tony LaRussa arrogance/stupidity. Me, I do not care too much about either of those things. Rather what has me upset is the opening line of a column published by CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman Monday night. Here’s what Heyman wrote: ”Some Mets officials...
