It wasn't so much my worst nightmare last night as it was just freaking annoying that the two guys who didn't deserve to start the all-star game on merit went out and had good games and were in the running for MVP. But the good news is that the N.L. won their third straight all-star game which if nothing else will muffle, if not mute all those snob American League fans that like to point to all-star games as a measuring stick of how their league is better than Jesus.

Also good news is that R.A. Dickey represented our little baseball team quite well by pitching a scoreless inning (though it should have been the first and not the sixth), and David Wright represented the Mets even better with his orange spikes. Very nice job there, kids.

Got me thinking as to who, in a show of snotty and immature revenge, should we rally around to vote into the all-star game next season? I thought of Mike Nickeas, which would be totally ridiculous. I thought of Josh Thole, because wouldn't it be fun to have Thole voted in to catch Dickey's knuckleball ... and even more fun if Dickey didn't make it next season (and because Thole will actually be on the ballot saving Mets fans from writing in Nickeas 25 times per e-mail account.) I thought of Ronny Cedeno. I thought of Jordany Valdespin. But here's who I settled on:

Scott Hairston.

Why?

Because of this:

Hey Gary Matthews, who exactly are the crybabies now? Oh yeah, your own announcing partner. Hey, I'm laughing something off. Can you guess what it is?

Yup, it's settled. Scott "He Stinks" Hairston for 2013 all star game. It's a no-brainer.

Don't worry, I'll remind you all of this next season.
