Willy Aybar’s latest arrest for domestic assault has landed him in jail for (at least) the next three months. This report comes from Dominican Today that reports Aybar has been sent to jail to await his trial due to his status as a repeat scumbag offender.
A National District Court Monday night sent Major League Baseball player Willy Aybar to spend three months prison to await trial on charges of battering his wife Brunilda Victoria Garcia…The prosecutors said Aybar is a repeat offender in domestic violence and also accused him of striking two assistant DAs, prompting Permanent Attention Court judge Alejandro Vargas to send him to the jail at Najayo, San Cristóbal (south)
By our count, this is the third time the former Rays utility player has been arrested for domestic assault, one of which landed his wife in intensive care.
His wife has recanted her story, however prosecutors want to proceed with the case.

Fuld's legendary season not soon forgotten
On Jan. 8, the Rays and Cubs made a blockbuster deal in which eight players changed organizations. Matt Garza was the marquee name of the trade. Meanwhile, the Rays received several prospects and an outfielder named Sam Fuld, who had some Major League experience. But to most fans, he didn't register on their radar of Major Leaguers.
