The Miami Marlins returned to action on Thursday after a much needed day off but the results remained the same as they tied the Atlanta Braves 5-5.  The Marlins have not been able to put together a win since last Thursday.  In that time, they have lost five games and tied two.     On a positive note, Miami tallied thirteen hits in this game.

Ricky Nolasco made the start and lasted four and a third innings while giving up three runs on five hits.   The veteran who is usually in command struck out three but also walked two.    After Nolasco exited the game, Chad Gaudin came in as the first man out of the bullpen.  The non-roster invitee allowed four hits in his one and two third innings on the mound.    Gaudin also walked a batter which has been an issue for him this Spring and he remains unlikely to make the team out of camp.    Ryan Webb pitched a perfect inning of relief to continue his spotless record this Spring.   Webb is expected to fill a setup role in the bullpen at least until Juan Oviedo is ready to return.  Jose Ceda and Beau Jones also pitched in this game, neither are expected to make the Opening Night roster.

In the aforementioned thirteen hits for Miami, four were doubles and one was a homerun.    Jose Reyes, John Buck, Nick Green, and Terry Tiffee had a double each.   Tiffee also homered in the game, his first of the Spring.     Reyes, Buck and Hanley Ramirez had two hits a piece as they continued to tune up for the regular season which is a mere 13 days away.     Aaron Rowand went 1-3 as he continues to sit behind other outfield options with time dwindling down.

The Marlins will take on the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.    Carlos Zambrano is scheduled to start for Miami while Adam Wainwright will be on the mound for the World Champions.
