Major League Baseball might have to wait for their punishment to be put in action, but the fallout from the Alex Rodriguez’s 211-game ban for his alleged invovlement with PED acquisition and use in wake of the Biogenesis scandal has already begun in one small Wisconsin town. Alex Rodriguez Field in Appleton, WI is no more. The youth baseball field has been known by that name since 2003, and the Fox Cities Sports Authority is doing everything in it’s power to erase it from memory. From the Appleton Post-Crescent: “The Sports Authority will pay to remove the plaques referencing Rodriguez from public display,” said Stan Baehman, director emeritus. “The naming rights will revert to USA Sports, the operator of the field.” Way to stick it to A-Rod! According to the president USA Youth, A-Rod’s name has already been removed. “It won’t be called Alex Rodriguez Field, effective immediately,” TenHaken said. “It is what it is.
