Noticed an article in the news today about Britian's last World War One vet dying at the age of 111, and it got me thinking, because no, my mind HAS no rudder. How many WWI vets are there left, has to be a lot, right? Well, thanks to Wikipedia, there's a smart little page that informs us that over 65 million people fought in WWI, along with a list of the known verified survivors. In case you're wondering, there are 3: one American, one Canadian, and one Australian. The last Central (bad guys) Powers vet died last year. So, out of 65 million, you have three left.
So...shouldn't there be a page of known Cubs fans left who saw a World's Championship, in 1908? I'm certain there were not 65 million Cubs fans in 1908 - in fact, the number may not even be a million. Baseball was not quite what it is now, fanship was regional in nature, and hell, World War One ended ten years AFTER the last championship. So that was 10...
