In todays installment of the Worst Moments in the 2011 Washington Nationals season, we recall July 15th when the Nationals lost 11-1 to the Braves for their 10,000th win as a franchise. This game held in Atlanta was each teams first action since the All-Star Break in Arizona and it quickly became evident the Nationals heads were still in the desert. In the opening frame Nats starter Livan Hernandez allowed four consecutive run scoring hits to Freddie Freeman, Dan Uggla, David Ross, and Nate McLouth giving the Braves a quick 4-1 lead at the end of the first and instantly sucking the life out of visiting Nationals. Things weren't faring any better at the plate as Braves starter Tim Hudson was at his best earning his 9th win of the year going 7 innings allowing one run on 7 hits, 7 strikeouts, and one walk. Following Hudson was Scott Linebrink and George Sherrill who each tossed a scoreless inning in relief. Five more runs in the sixth and seventh innings put the game completly ...
