Mets Merized Online:
David Wright has gained some ground on Pablo Sandoval according to the latest All Star voting update released by Major League Baseball this evening.
Last week, Sandoval had more than a 200,000 vote lead, but now Wright has narrowed that gap to just 126,403 votes.
The Mets have made an aggressive push to get the vote out, as has MMO and we are starting to make a big impact. There’s no question that Wright is the most deserving third baseman in the National League, and we should do everything we can to close the gap and get this done for one of our own!
Modest and humble as always, the Mets captain spoke out about the organization’s ambitious get-out-the-vote campaign and asked them to tone it down, saying:
“You appreciate what they’re trying to do, and they’re very good at it. But, at the same time, this is a team game. As much as I’d like to be here to represent this team in the All-Star Game, we can’t let this become an in-between inning, one-player production. Especi...
BEST OF MAXIM
David Wright, 3B
MMO Player of the Week!
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, the Mets go ahead and prove us wrong. Although it’s a long shot to say that anybody was expecting to win a series against the best team in baseball (and the way this team was playing, against the Cubs), hopes were not high coming into the week. The streaky defense and simply atrocious offense...
Matt Oberste grew up in Oklahoma as a lone ranger. As the majority of the population flocked to the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers, he sought solace with another team: The New York Mets. His favorite player? David Wright, who he modeled himself after growing up.
Oberste was selected by the Mets in the seventh-round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft and quickly signed with the...
Fred Wilpon spoke with Steven Marcus of Newsday on Monday and said he is confident in Sandy Alderson’s plan for the Mets. The Mets owner added that things will improve now that the big unproductive contracts are coming off the books.
“We’re coming to the end of the time when we have had an overhang of players who got hurt or didn’t play well, and I think that Sandy Alderson...
Been really tough to watch the Mets this year as all us die hards know. Even for me I just cant sit night after night watching the Mets score one or 2 runs with 5 hits. ZZZZZ . My partners in crime text me and ask are you watching this mess and I usually tell them I am busy with other things. A 2 year old will do that to you.
Of course yesterday being fathers day...

Buster Posey gets a full day of rest Monday after playing in all nine games of the Giants’ recent road trip. The reigning MVP caught eight of those games, spending Saturday’s game at first base. Posey collected 15 hits on the trip, raising his 2013 batting line to .316/.390/.515. His .905 OPS is tops among MLB catchers and seventh among all position players in the National League...
After 53 games of the 2013 baseball season, I think we have our enduring image. A defining moment. What it defines, I'm not sure. But it's going to wind up summing up this season perfectly:
That's Lucas Duda. In the seventh inning of a baseball game on Saturday with his team down by one run. Bunting. Willingly. Now mind you ... not only does Duda lead the Mets...
Angel Pagan has been battling a hamstring strain for weeks now. He was finally placed on the disabled list only recently after the San Fraincisco Giants continued to hope the issue would work itself out. Now, as Pagan is recovering he has been given the option of surgery to repair the hamstring. He declined that option and instead elected for a more conservative procedure...

Because this needed to happen, that is why.
