On Tuesday David Wright made his glorious return to the New York Mets lineup after taking a 94 mph fast ball to the head about 3 weeks ago.
Based on the poor season the Mets are having this year it would of been easy for Wright to shut it down for the final month of the season. The Mets are currently 60—74 and 18.5 games out of 1st in the NL East and have been crippled but injuries.
David is one of the best young players in all of baseball and he is the face of the Franchise, and its not easy being the man in New York. It is even harder being the man for a bad New York team, and David is a star but he is a star who grinds it out and plays hard all the time.
I respect David for coming back as soon as possible because to be honest the Mets need him and Met fans need him. His return is not going to get them into the post season nor is it even going to get them to 500.
What it is going to do is provide leadership for the younger players who are on ...
