Erik Boland of Newsday, captured some great quotes from David Wright who was being honored at the ALS Sports Award Benefit tonight in NYC. The topic of course was Jose Reyes, and the Mets third baseman didn’t mince words about how he felt about the situation. “You see the kind of interest Jose’s getting…You knew he was going to get it, but it finally kind of hits home when you hear the different reports about him speaking to different teams and everything. You know that it’s a possibility that he’s not here.” “I don’t know what he’s going to do but I know what I want him to do, that’s to be to my left next year. I’ve shot him a couple text messages here and there, nothing about baseball, but I guess that’s the eternal optimist side of me is that he’ll be to my left in spring training. Hopefully, the organization values Jose maybe the way I do.  If Jose goes, I guess anybody can go.” It’s going to be so weird to never see Jose Reyes batting leadoff or comprising the left side of the infield
