Found October 11, 2012 on NESN.com:
Red Sox Nation may not have been successful in placing a curse on the new Yankee Stadium. However, the team has left a semi-permanent mark on the Bronx Behemoth. Remember when it was reported that a construction worker placed a David Ortiz jersey in concrete at Yankee Stadium? Ultimately, the jersey was dug out of the ballpark for if no other reason than to avoid silly off-field distractions. However, repairing the area that was dug out hasn't been nearly as timely as removing the jersey, itself. According to NESN.com's Dan Duquette, Jr., the area where the jersey was placed has still yet to be repaired. With all the revenue Yankee Stadium generates, you'd think they would have gotten around to that by now, but apparently it hasn't been a priority. For Red Sox fans, they're probably just hoping it provides a place for New York to hide after a future playoff loss. I'm told this is where that David Ortiz jersey used to be buried at Yankee Stadium. Never fi...

Red Sox Injury News: Team and David Ortiz to Discuss Contract Next Week

David Ortiz is one of the primary targets for the Boston Red Sox this offseason if you believe GM Ben Cherington. Cherington has said that re-signing Ortiz is a team priority. This, of course, comes on the heels of a dismal season in Boston and Ortiz's achilles injury. However, Ortiz has indicated that the achilles has healed enough for him to start his normal offseason workout...

Jeter Day-To-Day With Bone Bruise

From Mark Hale:There is a major question about Derek Jeter’s health right now. In the third inning of the Yankees’ 3-2, 12-inning victory over the Orioles last night, Jeter, who has been battling a late season, left-ankle bone bruise, fouled a ball off his left foot. Jeter was badly limping and hobbling during the game, an alarming development. It became more alarming for...

McLouth's controversial hit ruled foul

Your browser does not support iframes. The Orioles missed tying Game 5 of the ALDS against the Yankees by inches when umpires ruled that a fly ball hit by left fielder Nate McLouth was foul.McLouth was batting in the top of the sixth with the Orioles down 1-0 went he blasted a 3-1 pitch deep down the right field line. The ball seemed to be foul, but then it started curving toward...

Vote: Should Raul Ibanez Start Over Alex Rodriguez for the Yankees in Game 4?

For one night, Raul Ibanez was the greatest hitter of all time. Pinch-hitting for Alex Rodriguez -- who many predicted would someday hold that title -- in the bottom of the ninth, Ibanez launched a home run into the right-field stands at Yankee Stadium to tie the game. Then, improbably, impossibly, he hit another in the 12th inning, sending New York into a frenzy and the Yankees...

Alex who? Raul pinch-hits into legend

In the aftermath of a spellbinding October night that recalled Reggie, Tino and Brosius, the Yankees' clubhouse hummed with electricity like the B train's third rail. While the victors tried to make sense of what had transpired -- " EXCITEMENT OVERLOAD! " Nick Swisher shouted from the next room -- the man of the hour moved about quietly. Raul Ibanez, who on Wednesday...

Yankees Injury News: Derek Jeter Shows No Sign of Injury

Derek Jeter had to be removed from Game Three of the New York Yankees division series victory over the Baltimore Orioles.  He left in the eighth inning after striking out and apparently re-aggravating the bone bruise that has been bothering him for weeks now.  However, he was able to play in Game Four, and last night he showed no ill-effects as the Yankees took down the Orioles...

Yankees Injury News: Joba Chamberlain Hit by Bat

Joba Chamberlain had to leave the New York Yankees' loss last night to the Baltimore Orioles after being hit by the barrel of Matt Weiters' bat.  Chamberlain tried to stay in the game after being hit, but the Yankees aired on the side of caution and removed him. According to Dan Connolly of the Balitmore Sun, Chamberlain suffered a contusion from the bat. Xrays neg...

Girardi managing with heavy heart

Joe Girardi's bold move in the ninth inning of a playoff game - pinch hitting Raul Ibanez for Alex Rodriguez - was hailed as courageous and admirable. If only we had known. Jerry Girardi, father of the Yankees manager, died Saturday after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. His son told few people, never left his team, and managed three postseason games under...

50% of The Way To A Russ Martin Printing Plate Rainbow.

I've been stuck on said 50% since I picked up the below sometime early in 2012 or late in 2011. Yeah, it was THAT long ago. Anyhoo, it's an excellent addition to my Russell Martin PC.I have yet to see the other two plates pop. I still don't understand why some plates are reverse negatives and others are not. Oh well. There are lots of things in this world of ours I can...

Red Sox Interview Tim Wallach

The Red Sox are beginning the interview process to find a new manager and they are starting with Dodger's third base coach Tim Wallach.  After playing third base in the majors for 17 years with the Expos, Dodgers, and Angels, Wallach began coaching as the hitting coach for the Dodgers in 2004.  He was a AAA manager for one year before becoming the Dodger's third base coach in 2010.

Ibanez saves Yankees again with tying, winning homers

NEW YORK -- The manager known for robotically following his "binder" full of stats took one of the biggest gambles in postseason history because, he would say later, it was a "gut feeling." That gut feeling, as well as the guts to follow through on it by New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi, helped his team pull off a wild 3-2, 12-inning victory over the Baltimore...

ALDS Game 5: Yankees 3, Orioles 1

It wasn't the shutout I said had to happen but it was a complete game win nonetheless. CC Sabathia finished off a great run for Yankee pitchers in the ALDS by allowing just one run on four hits, and walking two and striking out nine.On the other side of the ball, the three runs the Yankees scored felt like ten with the big fella on the mound. But it was the way they scored the...

Yankees 3, Orioles 2 (12)

NEW YORK -- Joe Girardi didn't drop struggling slugger Alex Rodriguez in the order, as New York Yankees fans had hoped. Instead, he took a much bigger gamble and it paid off, as the Yankees used another ninth-inning rally on Wednesday to top the Baltimore Orioles and take the lead in the American League Division Series. Raul Ibanez pinch-hit for Rodriguez in the ninth and tied...

Quote of the Day

"If the Red Sox have contacted Alex, I'm unaware of that. I can tell you this: In my conversations with Alex, it hasn't distracted me from my job and what the commitment there is. I'm extremely challenged, happy as the manager of the Blue Jays. But it's obvious that there's a vacancy to fill there and they're going about their interview process as...
