Kid who caught homer meets A-Rod
The young man who caught Rodriguez's record-tying, 23rd career grand slam did so in his cap and even met the slugger after the game when he returned the ball to A-Rod.
Alex Ties Gehrig In Slams, Yankees Break Tie In Standings
I have to admit that, when Alex Rodriguez was up with the bases loaded in the 8th inning last night, I expected him to strike out, or otherwise do nothing to get the run(s) in. You can't blame me for this. Everyone knows how badly the Yankees perform with the bases loaded. While I watched his at-bat, the stat popped up on the screen for what seemed like the 100th time: "Alex...

Game 61: A-Rod Goes Grand in Comeback
New York Yankees 6 — Atlanta Braves 4 Alex Rodriguez begins the comeback rally in tonight’s 6-4 win over the Atlanta Braves. Recently, CC Sabathia can be considered the weakest member of the starting rotation. Despite giving up 4 runs and 10 hits allowed, this outing was not a bad outing. 3 of [...]

ARod: 23 Grand Slams = 23 Home Runs
A lot is made of the grand slam. It’s one of the more exciting plays in an otherwise mostly staid game. It’s the most runs you can score with one swing of the bat. And now Alex Rodriguez has more of them than almost anyone ever with the exception of Lou Gehrig, whom ARod tied [...]
A-Rod Ties Lou Gehrig
Atop the grand slam list
As the New York Yankees visited the Atlanta Braves, the Yanks found themselves in a late hole. With the score 4-0 in favor of the Braves in the top of the eighth inning, Alex Rodriguez stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and one out. As the drama would play out, the count would go full. Braves pitcher Jonny Venters knew that one mistake could dearly...
I’m Pretty Sure This Kid Is Pounding A Beer At The Atlanta Braves Game
The New York Yankees are visiting the Atlanta Braves tonight on ESPN and in the Top of the 4th as Alex Rodriguez was returning to the dugout after striking out to Tim Hudson there was a young looking man/kid in a blue shirt drinking what I believe to be a beer out of a plastic cup.
The drink seems to be light-brownish (like a beer) and last I remember they don’t serve apple juice...
Not-So-Rapid Reaction: Yankees 6, Braves 4
Alex Rodriguez, meet Lou Gehrig.
The Yankees’ much-maligned third baseman made yet another mark on baseball’s all-time leaderboards, as his 23rd career grand slam erased a 4-0 deficit and set the Yankees on their way to a 6-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field last night. Rodriguez is now tied with the Iron Horse as the most frequent launchers of bases-loaded home...

A-Rod Feels LeBron James’ Pain
Our sh*t does stink T..
Alex Rodriguez feels the pain and suffering of LeBron James — A-Rod is no stranger to being the butt of a joke, so who could relate more to the Ringless King than the Yankees slugger. Rodriguez said on ESPN New York’s The Michael Kay Show that it’s “not fun being the villain.”“Sometimes I feel so bad for him,” Rodriguez said. “I feel like I...
A-Rod is a fan of Bryce Harper
The Yankees will get their first chance to see young phenom Bryce Harper this weekend when they face the Nationals and Alex Rodriguez is among those excited to see him.
“I love big talent. I am a baseball fan,’’ Rodriguez told George King of the NY Post. “To be 19 years old and doing what he is doing . . .”
Harper is just 19, but he has a .303/.384/.548 line through...
A-Rod’s Grandest Slams
Last night in Atlanta, Alex Rodriguez hit the 23rd grand slam of his career, typing Lou Gehrig. Even if Nick Swisher‘s two-run homer later the same inning put the Yankees on top for good and was the bigger play according to Win Probability Added (WPA), tying up the game on one swing with his team down four runs is a pretty nice feat for A-Rod, the man who still bears the stigma...
