Found April 08, 2013 on Lady At The Bat:
Going into today's action, Yankee fans were worrying about more injuries, while being pleasantly surprised by unexpected offense. The best news of the first week of the season was that veterans Andy Pettitte and CC Sabathia settled the minds of rattled fans with dominant wins in Games #3 and #6. As long as one of the other three starters settles in, the opposing offense won't have too much room to run up the score in any given game--oh wait, unless they're lefty-heavy. Boone Logan is still the only lefty in the pen.As frustrating as it is to start a season with two series losses, the good news is the Yankees are not sitting at the bottom of the AL East in offense--the part of the game media and fans felt the Yanks were lacking after free agency and injury left them without the lineup that won an AL best 95 games last season. The bottom line is that the last minute replacements are getting on base, and now that Girardi's lineup shuffle has settled down a bit, the hits...

April 9th in Yankees History

Fantasy double starters: April 8

Start 'Em Andy Pettitte (at CLE, BAL) Owned in a modest 55 percent of FOXSports.com fantasy baseball leagues, Pettitte dazzled in his 2013 debut, going eight innings of one-run ball against the rival Red Sox. Though he's turning 41 in June, the lefty still has plenty of gas left in the tank, evidenced by a 2.87 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 8.2 K/9 mark last season in 12 starts...

MLB Game Picks - Tuesday: April 9, 2013

Monday was a very good day here for the Game Picks. The only two incorrect picks were (of course) the Cardinals, a team that blew a save in just about the most spectacular fashion you could imagine. Between Mitchell Boggs and Scrabble, the Cardinals allowed nine runs in the ninth inning. Nine. Amazing. The other incorrect pick was picking the Cubs to beat the Brewers. This game...
