When was the last time a Yankee starting pitcher had a worse Opening Day than C.C. Sabathia did Monday? (Hint: not Carl Pavano in 2007.) Well, it’s been five years since the Yankees lost an opener — that fateful day in March 2004, Mike Mussina was outdueled by Devil Ray ace Victor Zambrano.  Mussina, while beaten soundly by the vicious Devil Ray bats, gave up only 5 runs over 5 innings — not quite as bad as CC’s 6 runs over 4.1 innings. To top that you have to go back to Camden Yards in 2002, when the O’s hung 8 runs on all-around nice guy Roger Clemens, also over 4.1 innings.
