About a week ago the Yankees were in talks with him, but today it is official. The Yankees have signed infielder and outfielder Bill Hall, according to Hall’s official Twitter account. Hall, 32, has experience at all three outfield positions and all infield positions save first base. He had a .261 OBP and a .575 OPS last season, but he has a career .307 OBP and .743 OPS. Hall’s career year came in 2006 when he had a .899 OPS and 35 home runs. This probably won’t stop the Yankees from signing a DH, but it could be a sign that Eric Chavez is out of the picture as Hall could easily play third base.
