Freddy Garcia gave up four runs on six hits while walking two and striking out 3 in 2 2/3 innings yesterday as the Yanks lose 9-2 to minnesota in Tampa. The Twins scored 1 in the first and three more in the third off of Garcia who took the loss and fell to (1-1) on the spring. The rough outing for Garcia was the first this spring for him as he continues to battle for a spot in the rotation this season with Sergio Mitre, Ivan Nova and Bartolo Colon.

Alex Rodriguez hit his second homerun of the spring in the second inning off of Twins starter Scott Baker who went four innings giving up one run on two hits while walking one and striking out two and got the win (1-2) on the spring. The good news for the Yanks is that both Soriano and Riviera pitched a scoreless inning. Mo Rivera looked very sharp striking out the side using just 12 pitches to do it in the 8th inning.  Soriano pitched one scoreless inning giving up one hit without walking or striking out anyone. The Yanks have now dropped there last five grapefruit league games and have an overall record of 6-10 with 2 ties. Tonight the Yanks will take on there rival Red Sox in Fort Myers, Florida pitching matchup will be Sergio Mitre against the former Yankee Alfredo Aceves game time set for 7:05 p.m. tonight.
