Found April 19, 2010 on NY Baseball Digest:

Michael Kay mentioned after yesterday’s game the Yankees are 43-10 at the Stadium since the All Star Break of last year. That winning percentage is 81%. Remember the early days of 2009 when we were wondering if they could adjust to their new home?

The Yankees most wins at home in their history was 65 back in 1961 for a .802 winning percentage. This year’s squad started 5-1 on their first home stand of the season. Could the Yanks challenge that 1961 record?

The early returns on the AL, in my opinion, are that it’s very top heavy. The Yankees, Tampa, and Minnesota are the class of the league. I am not sold on Boston, Oakland, or Detroit. It’s also nice to see Seattle with their plus/minus philosophy learning that you can’t win games if you don’t score at least one run.

Where am I going with this? I find it hard to believe most AL teams can come into Yankee Stadium and beat this team. You will see more home stands of the 5-1 variety this year. Maybe Tampa, Minnesota, or possibly Boston can win a series, but outside of that I don’t know.

Oh, in case you’re wondering, the NBA team with the best home record this year was the Cleveland Cavaliers with 35 wins and an 85% winning percentage. Not sure if the Yanks can top that, but it might be fun to see them try.
