On Wednesday night, Yanul Escobar was quite the artist. In the bottom of the fourth inning of Wednesday night’s game, the Red Sox’ Dustin Pedroia hit what looked like a seeing-eye single, but Escobar wouldn’t let that fly. The Rays shortstop ranged up the middle to make...
A star of the Tampa Bay Rays' farm system will miss significant time.
The Rays announced that right-hander Taylor Guerrieri, considered to be their top pitching prospect, had successful Tommy John surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He is expected to miss the rest of the 2013 season and at least part of the 2014 campaign.
Tampa Bay Rays’ Yunel Escobar started off this slick double play on Wednesday night with a filthy behind-the-back flip to Ben Zobrist. Zobrist then barehanded the ball and rifled it to first to finish off the double play. This was an absolutely fantastic play, and a web gem for sure.

The Red Sox can put some distance between themselves and the white-hot Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East race this week during their four-game series. But the Rays won’t be easy to hold off, especially after Monday’s Tampa Bay win.
The Rays haven’t lost a series since dropping two of three at Fenway on June 18-19 (when the Sox swept a doubleheader). They entered this...

Thursday night's Red Sox/Rays battle for first place in the American League East has been postponed. The game will be made up on Monday at 6:10 p.m. at Fenway Park. That would have been an off day for both teams.
The delay may actually work in the Rays favor as it will be David Price's turn in the rotation. Price pitched a five-hit complete...
