Hill re-signs with D-backs for 2 years, 11M
PHOENIX -- Aaron Hill maintained all along that he believed Arizona was the right fit, and now that he will be back for two more years, the Diamondbacks can turn their attention to the back end of the rotation and bullpen help.
Hill has agreed to a two-year, 11 million deal that is to be announced pending the results of a physical exam Tuesday, sources said Monday afternoon, a move...

AP sources: Arizona to re-sign 2B Hill for 2 years
Two people familiar with the deal say second baseman Aaron Hill has reached an agreement to re-sign with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The two people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Monday because the deal, for $11 million over two seasons, has not been announced. Arizona acquired Hill and utility infielder John McDonald from Toronto for second baseman Kelly...

Diamondbacks make offer to Aaron Hill
The Arizona Diamondbacks have decided to make an offer to second baseman Aaron Hill according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. He adds that the deal has an expiration date, and although it is unknown by him, the team expects Hill to wait until the last moment to make a decision.

Arizona's Hill loses double on umps's foul call
Aaron Hill had an apparent double wiped out when an umpire missed a fair-or-foul call Sunday in Arizona's playoff game against Milwaukee.
Hill hit a drive down the line in the first inning in Game 2 that left-field umpire James Hoye ruled foul.
Replays showed Hill's liner hit on the fair side of a yellow stripe on the wall. Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun played the carom...

Spring Training: Aaron Hill looks ready for opening day, but Blue Jays lose to Red Sox
Going into spring training, one of the biggest questions marks on the Blue Jays club was second-baseman Aaron Hill; would he be able to come back from a miserable 2010 season? How much did the injury play into his performance? The level of concern was rightfully elevated when Hill started off camp with a quad injury, which resulted in him missing several weeks of training games....

Spring Recap: Aaron Hill makes spring debut; Blue Jays fall to Phillies 5-4
Finally, with just over a week left before the Blue Jays’ season opener, the team fielded what you’d call the projected opening day lineup in spring training today against Cliff Lee and the Philadelphia Phillies. Most importantly, this meant the return of second-baseman Aaron Hill, who had been out with a quad injury, and hadn’t played in a game this spring up to this point...

Is the Aaron Hill era nearing an end in Toronto?
A player expected to be major contributor to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2011 may end up hurting the club in the long run.
Hill is entering his seventh season with the Jays and even though 2009 was his breakout campaign, his track record has been spotty.
Second base has, more or less, been his natural position since 2005. With no other legitimate candidate to take his position...

Dear Aaron Hill: Please don’t sink my fantasy team this year
Dear Aaron,
We’ve had a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the last couple of years. When I drafted you twice in 2009, nobody in either league even remembered who you were. You know how it is; fantasy baseball is a fickle game, and you were coming off a season lost to concussion symptoms. I knew what you were capable of, though; I remembered that you hit for a good average with some...

Speculation Sundays: Will the Jays pick up Aaron Hill’s contract options after ’11?
We’re just over a year into Alex Anthopoulos’ rebuilding plan for the Jays, and it’s staggering to see just how much the team has changed. The heart of the roster from JP Riccardi’s years are almost completely gone. Roy Halladay, Vernon Well, Alex Rios, Scott Downs, Lyle Overbay are all playing with other teams now; while a new core, led by newly-signed Jose Bautista, is...
