Is Adam Jones the next Oriole to be traded?
The Orioles traded Jeremy Guthrie to the Rockies on Monday, the same day his arbitration hearing was scheduled to be heard. Could CF Adam Jones be the next Oriole to be sent packing from Charm City? Jones is two years from free agency and would seem to be a prime building block for a the long downtrodden Orioles. Jones is still just 26 and has already been an All Star and Gold...

Player Profile #71: Adam Jones | OF | BAL
Adam Jones had a nice coming-out party last year. In 2009 he hit 19 homers in 119 games, but in 2010 he failed to improve upon that total, hitting 19 again in 149 games. Last season the power rate returned to that ’09 level as Jones finished the year with 25 homers, 83 RBI and a solid .280 average. I have a hard time seeing Jones really topping 12 steals — he could add...

Duquette's risky plan
Dan Duquette has a plan. It is not the plan that many wanted. Prince Fielder is not part of that plan, neither is trading Adam Jones or Jeremy Guthrie. No, but Duquette has a plan. And it is very risky. Looking at the moves Duquette has made this offseason I think it is pretty clear, he still believes in the talent that is on this roster. I made this comment at fanfest: "...

Adam Jones: Should He Stay With the O's Long-Term, Or Go?
During the offseason, one the biggest names on the Orioles – Adam Jones – was a target of trade rumors, specifically with the Atlanta Braves for pitcher Jair Jurrjens and infielder Martin Prado. Baltimore didn’t wind up trading Jones as we all know; however, will he stay with Orioles throughout his career, move to greener pastures, or go to a winner? Jones’ profile...

Would the Baltimore Orioles Be Wise to Sign Adam Jones to An Extension?
Whether you follow the Baltimore Orioles closely or not, there is a good chance that you have come across the trade rumors involving the center fielder. Off the top of my head, I can remember that the Atlanta Braves were linked to Adam Jones, but I’d imagine that there were at least a few other teams interested as well. With Adam Jones still in their equation, should the...

Martin Prado, or Adam Jones?
These god forsaken Adam Jones rumors JUST WON'T STOP, so I figured I'd briefly touch on them. When it comes down to Martin Prado or Adam Jones on the Braves, the two players are rather similar. Prado made $3.1 million in 2011, and has two more seasons of team control. Jones made $3.25 million, and also has two more seasons of control left. Neither player has great plate discipline...

Braves, Orioles Discussed Jones, Pitchers
The Braves and Orioles discussed a possible Adam Jones trade recently, but talks didn’t progress far, ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick reports (Twitter links). The Orioles wanted at least two of Brandon Beachy, Mike Minor, Julio Teheran, Arodys Vizcaino and Randall Delgado and the Braves weren’t interested, Crasnick writes.
Conflicting reports about the Braves’ interest...

Here's MASN's Adam Jones bubblegum ad. Also, the Nats are interested in Jones.
(Up above, video of MASN's Adam Jones Defining Moments gum ad from 2010...not nearly as annoying as the old Who? Wil Nieves spot...but right up there with the worst MASN ads of all time.)
Remember that little phone call we told you about last week? You know, the one where the Nats placed a call to the Orioles to ask about Adam Jones?
Here's none other than Jim Bowden...

Baltimore Orioles: The return of the cartoon bird
The Baltimore Orioles might not necessarily have the greatest record in the world over the past decade plus. However at least now they’ll look better win or lose. Changes to the Orioles’ uniforms were unveiled yesterday 8on orioles.com, and speaking for myself I think they look great. In effect there’s no change to the traditional home uniform, which will remain white with...

The Crystal Ball 2011: Adam Jones
Of all the 26-and-under talent that he Oriole have on their roster, Adam Jones is the most likely to have a breakout season in 2011. Really, it feels like it should have happened last year. A 6'2" centerfielder who can run like the wind and shows even the limited power that Jones has up to this point is an intriguing package. There's a lot of baseball potential in his physical gifts...
