Who Knew Aki Iwamura Had A Blog?
The Pittsburgh Pirates were unable to complete a trade with second baseman Akinori Iwamura. It was announced in this post that he will (gotta pay the bills) join the Pirates AAA Indianapolis Indians on Friday. The story also mentions his blog twice, but doesn’t link to it.

Akinori Iwamura Optioned to AAA
The Pittsburgh Pirates couldn't find anyone to take Akinori Iwamura off their hands, which is interesting considering the Pirates were most likely looking at picking up the bulk of Iwamura's salary, and have optioned Iwamura to AAA. Iwamura will now have the choice of accepting the option and going to Indianapolis, or declining the option and becoming a free agent. If Iwamura...

Akinori Iwamura Thanks The Tampa Fans
I didn’t see this until I got back from out of town this weekend, and caught up on some Rays reading, but Akinori Iwamura apparently took a full page ad out in the St Petersburg Times thanking the Rays fans. A really nice gesture from a guy who will be missed in the Bay Area.
