Al Reyes released, Molina sent home...
What an indictment it is when your released after it takes the Mets seven relievers to hold onto a game against a last place team that they had a six run lead in and your not one of the pitchers involved in the meltdown. That's what Al Reyes faced today when he was released prior to the game. Reyes never made one relief appearance with the Mets, many including myself thought...

Mets trimming the Fat,... I mean Roster
In a pair of minor moves made before the game, the Mets New York Mets released veteran reliever Al Reyes and sent catcher Gustavo Molina back to Venezuela so he could get ready to play winter ball. Al Reyes had not appeared in any games since being signed and called up at the start of the month.

Smart move signing Reyes
It's been reported that the Mets have signed Al Reyes to a minor league contract. The plan is for Reyes to build up his arm strength in Binghamton before joining the team. Despite having a major league contract on the table Reyes opted for the Mets, probably because he has the...

While he is injury prone, he is very effective in late innings and should give the Mets bullpen a much needed boost. The Mets are obviously preparing for the final stretch by adding this...

Reyes a free agent
I know Omar is doing more then he's actually saying but there seems to be such an obvious acquisition to be made. On the heels of the latest bad news in regards to Billy Wagner, John Delcos reports Omar said the team will have to find their answers from within. Wagner could be gone for the rest of the year and there is no one with save experience or who has shown the stamina...

Rays pitcher tased after bar altercation
Is there anything worse then being the guy who gets beat up after picking a fight and then gets tased by the cops? Ask Rays pitcher Al Reyes. He was tased by police after an altercation at a Tampa night club in which he was punched in the face and started bleeding profusely.
