Ojeda returns to Cubs organization for third time
By Paul Sullivan
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.- It wasn't your typical spring training moment.
With the bases loaded, two outs and the Chicago Cubs trailing Milwaukee by two runs in the eighth inning of Monday's game at HoHo Kam Park, a small but vocal crowd of 5,405 began chanting Augie Ojeda's name.
"It was awesome, it felt so great," Ojeda said. "Felt like it...

Welcome Back, Augie!
Man, when you see that Augie Ojeda is 36 you know it’s getting late.
Last night my son was megabussing home from college when he e-mailed me the news about Augie inking a minor league deal with the Cubs. A decade ago Augie was our favorite player in Des Moines. Eventually he would hit three homers playing for the Chicagoans. We saw one of them in a game at Wrigley the only other...

My first exposure to the minor leagues, I kid you not, was tracking Ojeda’s progress with the Rochester Red Wings in 2004. Seriously. That’...

Augie Ojeda Destroys Innocent RC Aircraft
I could watch this clip all day. It has everything: A game disrupted by a miniature plane flying around Dodger Stadium (a mini Fan Man!), Vin Scully actually announcing the disruption of a game by a radio-control aircraft (á la the cat at the Royals-Mariners game last month), the crowd cheering the plane's every twist and turn, the Diamondbacks' Augie Ojeda ripping the plane...

Hinch Does Everything But Call the Ump a Mama’s Boy
Arizona Diamondbacks manager A.J. Hinch in a move to try to rile up the team, tried his hardest to get tossed after a close call at first with Augie Ojeda. The San Diego Padres are currently up 4-3 in the 7th.
Ojeda was clearly out, but it was close. Hinch found it the right opportunity for [...]
