Yankees, Logan Agree To One-Year Deal
The Yankees and left-handed reliever Boone Logan agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.87 million. Logan was the sixth and final player to avoid salary arbitration with the Yankees (Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain, David Roberston, Brett Gardner, Russell Martin). Boone Logan asked for $2.1 million and was met with a $1.7 million offer. Logan can [...]

MLB Trade Rumors: Adios Boone Logan Hello Hughes, K-Rod Or Lil Manny
MLB’s trade deadline is creeping up fast and the New York Yankees, like most teams need to remedy a few ills before the clock runs out on July 31st. The Yankees are not in dire need for a starter much to the dismay of the sports media/Yankee-Haters. Even though the Bombers are riddled with injuries [...]Read more of MLB Trade Rumors: Adios Boone Logan Hello Hughes, K-Rod Or Lil...

Yankees Only Lefty Boone Logan Struggling
Via Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York:
“I need to get more aggressive,” Logan said. “I’m aiming the pitches a little bit. I need to get back in my groove. It is not fun going out there and not doing your job, giving up hits to lefties, walking lefties. My job was to get them all out and I’m not doing that right now…”

The Legend of Boone Logan
Shortly after Boone Logan pitched his two-thirds of an inning in last night’s Yankees – Twins game, I was alerted to Logan’s Wikipedia entry by reader “Tony.” According to the internet, “Boone” was just a nickname that Logan earned in high school, “after drinking so much Boone’s malt liquor that he needed his stomach pumped.&...

Joba, Boone turning things around
If you were to tell me a month or two ago that Joba Chamberlain and Boom Boom Boone Logan would be lights out for the New York Yankees, I would have spit in your face and called you a liar. But that’s where we stand on August 14th, 2010.
Over his last 11 appearances (spanning 8 1/3 innings), the lefty specialist has given up just one hit and a walk while fanning nine batters...

Please, no more Boone Logan
On the season, Boone Logan owns a 3.86 ERA, yet his FIP is 5.13 and his xFIP is 5.05. His walk rate is 5.79 – a terrible number – his strikeout rate is 5.79 – a poor number – and his strand rate is a lucky 83.3% as his career mark in that regard has never been above 70%. ZiPS projects Logan to post a 5.40 ERA (4.74 FIP) going forward and that seems like a reasonable prediction...

Park on DL, Logan called up
Via Sweeney Murti’s twitter account, the Yankees have placed Chan Ho Park on the DL with a hamstring strain and called up lefty Boone Logan to take his spot in the ‘pen.
It’s never good to have players get hurt, but I’d rather have guys go down in April rather than in the heart of a [...]

Aveves’ Back Opens Door for Logan
The Yankees have gotten pretty lucky this preseason as far as injuries go, but today they got their first scare as Alfredo Aceves will have his scheduled appearance tomorrow canceled due to a sore back. He’ll also be getting the next few days off too.
Manager Joe Girardi said that he’ll get the next few days off, but would probably...

Logan: 12th man or Triple-A?
After trading away lefties Mike Dunn and Phil Coke earlier this preseason, the Yankees were lacking in left-handed relief. One potential solution to that problem lies in Boone Logan, the left-handed reliever acquired in the recent trade for Javier Vazquez.
Logan, traded for the second time in his career in a package with Vazquez, has...
