The Rockies should call up some reinforcements from Colorado Springs when rosters expand on September 1st. I believe the following players should be called up for the stretch run:
Chris Nelson- The former 1st round pick had a brief tour in Denver earlier this season....

The Colorado Rockies DFA Brad Eldred
The Rockies have designated 29-year old righty swinging 1B Brad Eldred for assignment. Eldred played in 11 games for the Rockies this year and he was 6 of 24 (.250 avg, .750 OPS) with 4 runs scored, 1 homer and 3 RBIs. It wasn’t all good for Eldred though as he whiffed 10 times for the Rockies. The Rockies need Eldred’s roster spot to activate starting SS Troy Tulowitzki...

Colorado Rockies designate Brad Eldred for assignment
According to Steve Foster of insidetherockies.com, Colorado has designated Brad Eldred for assignment to make room for shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. Tulowitzki has returned form the disabled list after breaking a bone in his left hand in June.
Eldred hit .250 with one home run and three RBIs since he was recalled July 7. If Eldred clears waivers, he will return to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Rockies Designate Brad Eldred For Assignment
The Rockies designated Brad Eldred for assignment to make room for Troy Tulowitzki, according to Steve Foster of Inside the Rockies. Five weeks after breaking his wrist, Tulowitzki returns to the Rockies lineup, so Eldred no longer has a place on the major league roster.
The 30-year-old first baseman batted just 27 times with Colorado, hitting one homer and posting a .750 OPS...
