On the heels of the eight Cubs minor leaguers opting for free-agency this week per MLB Rule 55, the Cubs have outrighted 28-year old OF Brad Snyder to Iowa. From the Wire ... Brad Snyder Outrighted Off Cubs 40-man Roster
According to a report from Carrie Muskat, the Cubs outrighted Brad Snyder off their 40-man roster Wednesday after he cleared waivers. Snyder became a free agent in the process.
The Cubs activated John Grabow from the 60-day DL on Tuesday ... the big league roster now stands at 36 players.

Cubs waive Brad Snyder

The Cubs waived outfielder Brad Snyder on Wednesday, making him a free agent.
Snyder spent the last two seasons at Triple-A Iowa after being claimed off waivers from Cleveland near the end of the 2008 season. He hit .185 in 12 games for the Cubs last September, with 5 RBI in 27 at-bats.
The Cubs 40-man roster now stands at 36.
