Astros Notes: Backe waived; Hampton back in rotation

Brandon Backe will try to catch on with another team. He declined an offer by the Astros to pitch in the minor leagues and was placed on waivers. If he clears waivers later this week, he will be free to sign with another team. He will receive all his $1.55 million salary.
