MILWAUKEE In 2008, Brandon Boggs appeared in 101 games for the Texas Rangers as a 25-year-old. After spending two more seasons in Texas and getting only 24 at-bats combined in '09 and '10, Boggs signed with Milwaukee last offseason.

Boggs was designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers on August 31. Boggs, 27, was 0-for-7 in 4 games for the Rangers' big league club this year. His best year was 2008 when he hit .226/.333/.399 with 8 home runs and 41 RBIs in 101 games for Texas.

Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star Telegram says the Texas Rangers have designated outfielder Brandon Boggs for assignment to clear a roster spot for newly acquired Jeff Francoeur.
Boggs, 27, was 0-for-7 in 4 games for the Rangers’ big league club this year. His best year was 2008 when he hit .226/.333/.399 with 8 home runs and 41 RBIs in 101 games for the Rangers.
