Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com says the Pittsburgh Pirates have traded outfielder Brandon Jones to the Detroit Tigers for a player to be named later.
Jones, 26, did not play for the Pirates this season. In three seasons with the Atlanta Braves, he hit .257/.313/.365 in 51 career games. He has been assigned to the Tigers’ Double-A Erie SeaWolves.

Pirates demote Brandon Jones, sign Yung Chi Chen
The Pittsburgh Pirates have demoted outfielder Brandon Jones from AAA Indianapolis to AA Altoona, and have also signed Yung Chi Chen, who was recently with the Oakland Athletics. UPDATE 4:46 PM: Kind of a vague comment by Rob Biertempfel on Twitter suggesting that Pirates fans shouldn't get too attached to Jones.
