The Brandon McCarthy Saga – Part Two
Special thanks to Brandon McCarthy for taking the time to walk me through his experiences as a pitcher, and providing me with countless insights I never would have discovered researching on my own.
When part one ended, we had covered the final changes McCarthy made to his delivery in Winter Ball, and were about to analyze his 2011 season. It’s safe to say that Oakland seems to...

On Brandon McCarthy and Jennifer Engel
It’s very rare that in these corners I’ll take time to write about something other than the Giants. Perhaps it’s just frustration, or the fact that there’s little going on with the Giants right now, but I feel compelled to write about something else for once — some comments made by Jennifer Floyd Engel, a national columnist for Fox Sports, regarding current Oakland Athletics...

Pitcher Brandon McCarthy, Writer Jennifer Engel in Twitter War
Oakland A’s pitcher Brandon McCarthy and sports writer Jennifer Engel got into a Twitter war after the writer took a seemingly unprompted shot at the pitcher. Oakland A’s Offense Ruins McCarthy’s Return
Brandon McCarthy made his return from the DL yesterday only to earn his 5th loss of the year. McCarthy actually pitched a pretty good game in his return. He only gave up 2 runs in his 6.2 innings of baseball. Plus McCarthy struck out 5 while only allowing 4 hits. Too bad he pitches for the Oakland Athletics.
Granted the A’s were facing a really good pitcher in Michael Pineda...

Brandon McCarthy and Tyson Ross on the 15 Day DL
After losing Dallas Braden for the season the A’s got a nice spoon full of worse news. Both Brandon McCarthy and Tyson Ross are lost for at least 15 days. McCarthy with a shoulder injury and Ross with a strained oblique. I’m not sure how the news could get any worse, other than losing both players for an extended period of time.
So far I haven’t heard a peep about who will...
