Brandon Webb to have rotator cuff surgery again
Brandon Webb is scheduled to have rotator cuff surgery again, a huge setback for the 2006 NL Cy Young Award winner.
The Texas Rangers say that Dr. Keith Meister will perform the surgery Aug. 1. The Rangers' team doctor also operated on Webb in August 2009.
Webb was scratched from a July 1 rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock because of shoulder discomfort.
Texas gave Webb a...

Webb’s time in AZ officially over
You can officially cross off Brandon Webb being in a Diamondbacks uniform next march. The veteran right-hander signed a one-year deal with the Texas Rangers on Monday. The deal is worth $3 million, but it could go up to as much as $8-10 million if Webb reaches certain incentives.
With losing Cliff Lee to the Philadelphia Phillies and missing out on trading for Zach Greinke, the...

Reds and Brandon Webb Possible?
A few weeks ago, I posted that there was a possibility that former Arizona Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb could consider becoming a Red. At that time, ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick tweeted that the Reds were an outside possibility.
Fast forward to today. Crasnick is reporting that while the Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals are still the front-runners, there’s a note to add...

Brandon Webb Drawing Interest All Over
Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Webb is drawing a lot of interest all over Major League Baseball. Honestly, it is more interest than I would have expected at this point. Right now, there are no fewer than three teams reportedly with interest.
Chicago Cubs – yeah the loveable losers, especially when it comes to pitching. The Cubs have shown interest. Word is...

Dbacks Say All but Goodbye to Webb
With one statement from management the Arizona Diamondbacks, in not so many words, bid adieu to pitcher Brandon Webb earlier today, thanks him for his services and contributions.
Not a day entirely unexpected to come. After all, Webb has missed all but his opening day start in 2009 over the past two seasons. After a lot of back and forth of whether he would or would not pitch...

And the Brandon Webb era comes to an end…most likely
Eight seasons.
87 wins.
One Cy Young Award.
Three top five Cy Young voting finishes.
70 pitches thrown in the last two seasons.
Those are just some of the accomplishments of one Brandon Webb, the former 8th round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks ten years ago, who today became a free agent.
Webb is second on Arizona’s all-time list in victories (behind only Randy Johnson) with...

The Great Webb Debate
To bring him back or to not bring him back. Brandon Webb that is. That is the big question facing the Arizona Diamondbacks as they head into the off-season. Actually, its just one of a bunch of questions.
Webb, who has had two successful outings this past week in the Instructional League, is not going to pitch again until spring. Question is, who will he be pitching for? Part...

The Curious Case of Brandon Webb
No this is not about a pitcher that gets better with age. This is simply about how a fan favorite and team ace can, in just a couple of years, become forgotten and seemingly disappear.
Brandon Webb’s career started with a bang, debuting in New York in 2003 and outdueling Tom Glavine with seven scoreless innings and ten strikeouts. He finished his rookie season 10-9 with an ERA...
