2012 Tigers Preview: The Outfield
Our Tigers preview continues with the outfield. With players back from injury, the starters are set. Brennan Boesch should be good after the thumb injury ended his 2011 season, Delmon Young’s oblique is healed up and Austin Jackson looks to put a tough offensive season behind him.

Detroit Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch said he is healthy and ready for the start of spring training.
Boesch had his season cut short in 2011 after tearing a ligament in his right thumb. He underwent surgery in September.
The 26-year-old Boesch told the Detroit News that he started to swing normally last month.

Player Profile #198: Brennan Boesch | OF | DET
For two seasons now Boesch has put up very good numbers in the first half followed by a disappointing second half. It’s the reason why he’s more of a late-round flier than anything else. We’ll have to see how his power comes back after tearing a thumb ligament that forced him to miss the final 1 1/2 months last year. In his career he has 605 at-bats in either...

TigsTown 2011 Player Capsule: Brennan Boesch
After a blistering first half of 2010, Brennan Boesch had an equally frigid second half, leaving many to wonder what type of player the Tigers would get in 2011. Boesch for the most part split the difference at the plate with a solid overall season, but some questions still linger.

Brennan Boesch Player Projection No. 141
Key Stats: Brennan Boesch is going to be 27 years old and has just completed his 2nd “full” year of big league play. He gave us a solid .283/.341/.458 slash line in 2011 good enough for him to be deserving of a roster spot in 10 team leagues. He increased his power last season hitting two more HR’s in 40 less AB’s over the previous season while also striking out less. We...

Tigers' Boesch expected to miss rest of season
Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch is set to have surgery on his injured right thumb and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Boesch says he doesn't have a concrete date yet for the operation but hopes to have it sometime in the next week. He hit .283 with 16 home runs in 115 games this year, but he's played only once since Aug. 24. Boesch says he may be able to pick...

What will Brennan Boesch do Next?
Nobody is quite sure what to expect from slugging outfielder Brennan Boesch in 2011. Everybody knows his story. He was promoted to from Toledo to Detroit in late April and went on to have an all-star caliber first half batting .342/.397/.593. His second half, however, was described by Baseball Prospectus as the worst half season for a regular in the 21st Century. His final...

Brennan Boesch and Pitching to Rookies
Few stories gripped me as much in the first half of 2010 as the meteoric rise of Brennan Boesch. The Tigers outfielder hit .342/.397/.593 in the first half, was a huge All-Star snub, and looked to lead the Rookie of the Year race by a mile.
In spite of Boesch’s success, many warned his over-aggressive approach would catch up to him in the long run. They were quite right, as he...

Dissecting Brennan Boesch
Possibly the biggest story of the 2010 Detroit Tigers was the meteoric rise and subsequent fall of outfielder Brennan Boesch. Called up in late April, Boesch wasted little time claiming an everyday day role for the Tigers, be it as the left fielder or as the DH. We all know the story by now. Boesch hit .342 in the first half of the season. He slugged 12 home runs, had 49 RBI and...

Drawing Player Comparisons For Will Rhymes
Nearly a month ago I wrote a post full of player comparisons for Brennan Boesch. It proved to be an interesting exercise and generated some discussion. I’m back this month with a similar post with Will Rhymes serving as our target subject.
As with my previous post, I will draw comparisons to players at levels I call “Hall of Fame”, “Solid Major Leaguer” and “Role Player”...
