Jays LHP Cecil scratched from Friday start
Toronto Blue Jays lefthander Brett Cecil was scratched from Friday night's start against the New York Yankees with a cut on a finger on his throwing hand.
Cecil is 0-5 in eight starts since his last win July 29 vs. Texas. Overall, he is 4-9 with a 4.37 ERA in 18 starts.
Cecil will be replaced by Dustin McGowan, who made his first start of the season Sunday vs. Baltimore...

Blue Jays Promote Brett Cecil; Send Down Zach Stewart
In a move that had been anticipated for a couple of weeks now, the Blue Jays have deemed Brett Cecil fit for MLB duty, thus ending Zach Stewart’s cup of tea here in the big leagues. We won’t have to wait very long to see Cecil’s post-demotion, either; the lefty will make his debut against the Phillies on Canada Day.
For Cecil, the promotion begins his road to redemption...

The Toronto Blue Jays recalled pitcher Brett Cecil from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.Cecil was demoted to Triple-A on April 21, after posting a 1-2 record with a 6.86 earned-run average in four starts.
