Robinzon Diaz, Jeff Karstens, and Justin Thomas were all designated for assignment ten days ago, and all three cleared waivers today. The Pittsburgh Pirates unconditionally released Diaz, while sending Karstens and Thomas to AAA, with invites to Spring Training.
